New Year’s Eve at Times Square

4 03 2010

There’s a tale that has to be told
It could be new or very old
About a pair of men from different lands
Navajo Dan and The Alaskan Man

One lives in cold, the other in burning heat
And one day their paths did meet
On the streets of New York City
Where the Broadway lights shine pretty

What brought them to the same spot
From their worlds of cold and hot
It’s something magic and yet unseen
To be here on New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve at Times Square
Has a spell all its own
Something in the crowd makes you glad your not alone
We are brought together
To celebrate and share
The magic that appears on New Year’s Eve at Times Squares

Navajo Dan wore his ancient headdress
So his family could see him from the rest
The Alaskan Man wore his muck lucks
Cause his parents said they brought good luck

As they were waiting for the ball to drop
A lady near by, her heart did stop
Navajo Dan and The Alaskan Man came to her aid
Brought her back to life the using the old customs way

The ancient headdress lead the bad spirits away
While the muck lucks jump started her heart that day
The crowd applauded and it was plain to see
Strange things happen on New Year’s Eve

Instrumental Break

Each one looked to the other with a sense of pride
Though they looked so different, they were the same inside
No matter race, religion or color of the skin
The main goal is to help each other again and again

When the New Year came, they gave each other the best
As they exchanged the muck lucks and the head dress
Bidding each other farewell and shaking one another’s hands
This is the tale of Navajo Dan and The Alaskan Man

This story could be false or it can be true
It all depends on your point of view
But one thing that everyone can agree on and share
Strange things happen on New Year’s Eve at Times Square
