On this date in 2000 – The last original “Peanuts” comic strip appears in newspapers one day after Charles M. Schulz dies. The World is less funny because you are gone. ” Your a Good Man, Charles M. Schulz.”

On this date in 2004 – The Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics announces the discovery of the universe’s largest known diamond, white dwarf star BPM 37093. Astronomers named this star “Lucy” after The Beatles’ song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”.

On this date in 1981, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon becomes the rock album to spend the most consecutive weeks on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart — 402 weeks from March 1973. It would eventually leave the charts April 23, 1988, after 724 weeks.
