On This Date March 13th

13 03 2011

Today is Planet Uranus Day . Uranus, the seventh planet from the Sun, was discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1781. Uranus is about four times wider than Earth and has 11 rings around it. One day on Uranus is about 17 Earth hours long. Uranus spins on its side, maybe because of a big impact early in the history of the Solar System. One year on Uranus would be 30,708 days or 84 years on Earth. So be proud of your new knowledge as you walk along today and tap the person in front saying , ” I bet I know something about Uranus that you don’t .”
