The Shadow of Lady Autumn

4 10 2011

The Shadow of Lady Autumn
Dances across the windswept tress
Holding back the summer sun
Atop the multicolored leaves

Nestled in the morning dew
That glistens in the early dawn
Amongst the fallen grass blades
And the children’s early yawn

The wind brings back the memories
Of a time for which we never tire
Jack-O’-Lanterns, apple cider
And relaxing by the fire

Moments are but seasons
Embrace them, as they do come
For there is no mistaking
The Shadow of Lady Autumn
