Chromosomes

23 02 2010

When I think of all the stuff I learned back in high school
There is one thing that stuck in my head
After the onion root lab and the in class cell division
I had each stage of the cell cycle follow me to bed

Chromosomes
First they grow and replicate
Then the envelope breaks down and the fibers can’t wait
And pull the chromatids apart to the opposite ways
The cell then begins to pinch in two
The nuclear membrane then has a job to do
Before they take my Chromosomes to interphase

Somewhere inside my brain I retained this information
And I thought I would never use it, until last night
That’s when my daughter had me quiz her on her homework
And everything came back to me in black and white

Chromosomes
First they grow and replicate
Then the envelope breaks down and the fibers can’t wait
And pull the chromatids apart to the opposite ways
The cell then begins to pinch in two
The nuclear membrane then has a job to do
Before they take my Chromosomes to interphase

Chromosomes go through many a phase
Inter, Pro, Meta, Ana and Telophase
Then Cytokinesis takes them back to Interphase

Chromosomes go through many a phase
Inter, Pro, Meta, Ana and Telophase
Then Cytokinesis takes them back to Interphase

Chromosomes go through many a phase
Inter, Pro, Meta, Ana and Telophase
Then Cytokinesis takes them back to Interphase

Chromosomes go through many a phase
